Using notes in June
Updated this week

Notes help you annotate your dashboards in June—whether to highlight trends, explain context, or simply keep track of thoughts.

How to add a note

There are two ways to add a note:

  1. From the top bar:

    • Go to any dashboard.

    • Click “Add” in the top right corner.

    • Select “Add a note.”

  2. By right-clicking:

    • Right-click anywhere on the dashboard.

    • Select “Add note.”

Your note will appear at the top of the dashboard with the default text:
“Write something or insert an image…”

Editing your note

  • Text formatting: Notes support rich text formatting including bold, italic, and underline, as shown in the editor toolbar.

  • Images: You can also insert images using the image icon in the toolbar.

Moving and resizing

  • Resize: Use the double arrow in the bottom right corner of the note to switch between small, medium, and large sizes.

  • Reposition: Drag your note anywhere on the canvas using the six dots at the top of the note.

Deleting a note

To delete a note:

  • Click the three dots in the bottom right corner of the note.

  • Select “Delete.”

What to write in a note

You can use notes in many ways depending on who the dashboard is for. Here are some common examples we've seen:

  • Interpret the data: Summarize what the numbers are showing. Add quick takeaways so others don’t have to dig.

  • Explain context: Include background on what the analysis is based on—e.g., feature launches, recent campaigns, or a specific cohort.

  • Add faces and links: For shared dashboards, especially those used with customers, people often include:

    • A photo of the CSM in charge

    • A link to book a call

    • The customer’s success plan with checkboxes and due dates

    • A link to the latest QBR deck
